HMT - Checkpoint 6 (Timisoara)

Heavy machinery is unstoppable, never tired never sleeps. It's been a long time since i had a chance to dive inside world of internet. Taking advantage of few free days in Timisoara i'll show you what happened with us in last two restless weeks....

Buzludzha Communist flying saucer trip...

After a gig in Plovdiv we used few free days to go and check out ruins of the old comjunist empire. The temple that was built on the mountain where Bulgarian communist party was founded.

Weather was moody, high in Buzludzha mountains it was extremely fogy. No long views available, but couple of mystical photos for sure...

Going to Turkey
Turkey was our most Southern point of our trip. Didn't managed to reach the people and book a gig, but at least we had our fun walking the streets of capital city - Istanbul. Got our lovely souvenirs: 1kg of tobacco and 2kg of black tea.

Istanbul left a huge impression on us all. Big crowded alleys, small extremely steep hills in the neighborhoods, stray dogs and cats, and social diversity...

after a first car wash/clean on the road we hit the road to Istanbul
about to enter the Taxim - Istanbul heart

we managed to find a couch-surfing host in Istanbul and already next day we hit the busy streets to check out the city

market - all the city is rotating around this place

Greets to V.Babushka back in BCN :)
rush hour

In Istanbul besides walking the streets and eating sweets i managed to do one important thing - Fix my KP3 that became dis-functional coz of broken components...

i went on long trip around electronic stores looking for replacement peaces

success!10 eur for 3 new peaces... now it's time to find someone who can solder new parts to my box. in the different district of the city we found people working with electronix and got the replacement for 10eur . Total 20 euro - not bad!

more pix from the city

a special section for Chipsik. Istanbul was all about cats...

omnipresent creatures

Hungry stray dogs on roadsides. Ready to eat even watermelon

Next stop Varna, Bulgaria. Concert place - Varna solidarity center. A DIY place runed by local activists.
We'll what can i say. This was the smallest sound system to play on so far. Ridiculously small!!! Two guitar combos 30W each. No mixer. Uff... let's see what we can do...

Money Goni!
30W combos + 30W combo + 60W Pinky power = party!!!

hey DJ drop the beat!

This is not thee first time i've been playing on small sound system, but this is first time when i had so diverse public. along with youngsters to the center came grandpa with grandma an their little granddaughter, hey were enjoying party a lot. Strange! But fun!

Weeee.. Non-stop people.. non-stop people!!!!

my spiritual guide ... making sure that my soul doesn't get lost in the trip or stole by the great white goddess

i dont remember this happening...

neither this...

this i do remember...horrible.. one of those mornings when i say to myself: "never again, until next weekend..."

Bike tour - Bulgaristan/Romania along the Black sea.

Still accompanied by hangover and our bikes we hit the road together with Gita along Black sea in direction Romania, while Misha is probably in Bucharest  already! There are 5 days to get to Bucharest for the next gig. And we gonna use this time to check out sunny Black sea...

First stop. Albena resort. Full of hotels, money spending facilities and..
this stuff... Ferrari bike, porche bike, land rover bike...

bit further along the coast we found a place to stay for moneyless people

Second Stop. Some 50-60 km along the coast, not far away from Romanian border. A fisherman 'village'...Absolutely authentic and very hot!

I found my Dacha, with the smooth taste of butter...

breakfast in the shade of a empty house balcony. it's 9am and sun is burning already...
nice

left my bike and went exploring the coast

dead of the land

oh, man! i just cant normally walk around i need break something. I think i broke or twisted my ankle walking on the rocky beach and tomorrow we'll go to the doctor in Romania... :(

Third stop. Romania - Vama veche. Steep rocky coast!

i missed last morning swim in the black sea of Romania. my foot hurts and we're cycling to hospital in Mangali.

first thing we saw... fortunately my leg foot was just bit twisted, doctor put on elastic bandage and said less walking for two weeks. yeah, right... impossible. out of the hospital and on the road to Bucharest. Cycling is not walking!

Wild wild Romania

we took small rural roads to Bucharest to see what Romania is all about in the South!

It was about endless sunflower fields

horse traffic

corn fields

calmness

hehe.. roadside queens!

a place to stay for us, next to water source and 'drinking station for cattle'

and goats...

next day we continue against wind and hills
crossing Donau river on a bark

later that day we decided to try legendary Romanian trains

was nothing special, just old trains
arrived to Bucharest one day early we stayed in question mark club at 'preparty' .. with gypsy kids on the street

at home with yin and yang cats.. this is yang!

cooking new set

hot and retarded... question mark had nice sound, nothing more... people who came were sticking around the walls in the darkness...

the famous dracula and his castle in the background

spending time with my friend from Barcelona in a park

next day we're again on the road to timisoara

crossing one part of Karpaty mountains
